Children’s dental health

Dr Rammopo is dedicated to providing the best oral health care for your young ones. She is trained specially to treat a child’s teeth, mouth and gums, throughout the stages of childhood. We recommend that you bring in your child for their first dental visit at six months or after their first tooth erupts. Children aren't always the most cooperative during dental appointments, which is why Dr Rammopo treats children with the utmost care to make them feel relaxed and comfortable.

The importance of dental care for children

Children need to adopt proper oral hygiene techniques from a young age to prevent tooth decay and disease that can cause a lifetime of pain and complications. As a qualified dentist, Dr Rammopo can provide your child with the care needed to protect and preserve their natural teeth.

Types of treatments for children

Preventative measures

There are several procedures that can be performed to guard against future dental complications. Preventive dental services include routine oral exams, X-rays, cleanings, and fissure sealants, and fluoride treatments.. In addition to treatments, we provide educational instructions such as proper brushing and flossing methods to maintain your child’s oral health.

Restorations

It's very common for children to have cavities - even at a very early age. Luckily, we provide quality dental fillings to help restore a tooth with a cavity. We know that children can be wary of dentists, which is why we take the utmost care to make your child feel comfortable and relaxed.

Orthodontics

Children should be assessed regularly to see if they require braces since the alignment of their jaws and teeth are constantly changing. Early assessment and management are key to maintaining good oral health in the long run. Treatment often begins once most of the adult teeth have come through, which is around the age of 10-14 years old. However, some children require treatment (interceptive orthodontics) as early as age seven if there is a need to do so. The need for orthodontic treatment will depend on the type of problem they have and how their teeth are developing.
